Description
The Newland HR33 Marlin AI Bluetooth (part number NLS-HR3300-BT-V2) is the second version of the HR33 Marlin cordless scanner. It keeps the lightweight, balanced housing that made the Marlin a favourite at checkouts and service counters, and adds Newland’s AI-powered barcode detection, which uses computer vision to find and decode codes in a cluttered image instead of relying on perfect alignment.
The result is a general-purpose scanner that reads worn shelf labels, crumpled delivery notes, glossy packaging and codes on phone screens at the first press of the trigger.
AI decoding, OCR and Digimarc
Newland’s UIMG decoding and AI detection read damaged, distorted and low-contrast 1D and 2D codes, including on curved or reflective surfaces. Built-in OCR captures passport machine-readable zones, with optional date and alphanumeric recognition, and the scanner also reads Digimarc digital watermarks.
Accurate aiming in crowded labels
A laser aimer and Acuscan technology make sure the scanner captures the code it is pointed at, even when several barcodes are printed close together on pick lists, shelf edges or shipping labels. Depth of field reaches 535 mm on standard EAN-13 codes.
Cordless freedom all shift
Bluetooth 5.0 gives up to 100 m of range in open space, and the scanner works through its charging stand or directly with a host. Real-time, asynchronous and batch modes store thousands of scans when out of range. The latch-release 2,600 mAh battery swaps in seconds, and a two-colour indicator warns before it runs low. Advanced Scripting in Lua lets integrators reformat data without changing host software.
