Technowave International delivered a full-store ZKONG Electronic Shelf Label rollout for ADCOOP’s new premium supermarket in Abu Dhabi, synchronizing 114,000 SKUs with SAP ERP and activating more than 11,800 digital shelf labels before launch day.
ADCOOP’s premium store at Makani Al Khalidiya Garden was designed for a modern shopping experience. To support real-time pricing, paperless shelf operations, and faster promotion execution, ADCOOP selected Electronic Shelf Labels across the entire store.
Technowave International LLC, in partnership with ZKONG, managed the rollout from department planning and ESL template design to SAP integration, installation, testing, and launch support. The result was a full-store digital shelf-edge environment ready before the public opening.
The store needed a reliable, launch-ready digital pricing system that could handle supermarket scale, department-level display requirements, and SAP-connected pricing accuracy.
All shelf labels had to be digital, mapped, tested, and operational before the store’s public opening.
SAP ERP, checkout, promotional pricing, and shelf-edge labels needed to stay aligned through centralized updates.
The shelf communication had to look clean, modern, and consistent across fresh, grocery, frozen, and general merchandise sections.
A supermarket ESL project is not only about placing displays on shelves. It requires product data preparation, template design, ESL pairing, communication testing, department-wise mounting, and operational validation.
Technowave followed a structured rollout methodology to reduce launch risk, maintain department-level consistency, and ensure the ESL network was ready for daily supermarket operations.
Technowave surveyed each section and selected the right ESL size, frame color, rail, and mounting accessory for the store environment.
Templates were designed around ADCOOP’s presentation standards, with clear product hierarchy, pricing, unit information, and promotional space.
The ESL cloud platform was configured so product data, pricing, and promotions could be updated centrally from ADCOOP’s SAP ERP system.
More than 11,800 ESLs were installed, paired, mapped, validated, and activated across the store before go-live.
The project gave ADCOOP a scalable digital pricing foundation for daily operations, promotional updates, and a modern customer experience.
Centralized updates flow from ERP to shelf labels without manual relabeling across departments.
Campaigns, offers, and price changes can be updated faster across fresh, grocery, frozen, and general merchandise zones.
Store teams spend less time printing, sorting, checking, and replacing paper shelf labels.
Improved alignment between SAP ERP, checkout systems, and customer-facing shelf-edge displays.
Clear digital labels support a cleaner, more modern store presentation in every department.
Paperless shelf communication helps reduce recurring paper label printing, waste, and manual handling.
“This full-store ESL rollout shows how a supermarket can move from manual shelf-edge work to centralized digital pricing, with better price accuracy, faster promotions, and a cleaner shopping experience.”
