Project Overview
A leading enterprise group in Abu Dhabi required a robust and automated asset management system to track and manage its heavy vehicle assets, including trucks, cranes, pickups, and specialized vehicles, deployed across multiple remote locations.
The objective was to achieve real-time visibility of asset movement, eliminate manual logging, and integrate asset data seamlessly with the client’s existing ERP system.
To meet these requirements, EasyTrack RFID Asset Management Solution, developed by Technowave International LLC, was proposed with custom vehicle asset tagging, data capture modules, and ERP integration.
Solution Architecture
The deployed solution combined custom-developed software, industrial-grade RFID hardware, and ATEX-certified RFID tags, ensuring reliability in harsh and remote operating environments.

Vehicle Tagging & Deployment Approach
Each vehicle presented unique physical and operational challenges. After extensive testing, the RFID tags were:
- Installed on the dashboard area of each vehicle
- Fixed securely using drilled mounting points and industrial rivets
- Positioned to ensure maximum read reliability without interfering with vehicle operations
Special care was taken as tagging involved permanent physical modifications to high-value assets, requiring precise alignment and client approvals.
Gate Automation & Fixed Reader Challenges
To automate vehicle movement tracking, RFID fixed readers were installed at entry and exit points across multiple sites.
Key Challenges Addressed
- Wide gate entrances, where vehicles could pass outside standard read zones
- Multiple exit paths, requiring coverage recalibration
- Reader range optimization to avoid missed reads or cross-reads
Resolution
- Multiple rounds of on-site testing and tuning
- Optimization of antenna positioning, height, and angles
- Installation of physical barriers to channel vehicles through optimized read zones
- Fine-tuning read distance to ensure accurate detection without false positives
Project Execution & Resource Deployment
Given the scale and tight timelines, two dedicated Technowave field teams were deployed in parallel to handle:
- Vehicle tagging across remote locations
- Fixed reader installation and testing
- Live validation of movement detection
- System handover and user acceptance testing
Despite challenging site conditions and asset availability constraints, the project was delivered within the committed timeline.
