A leading fashion retail business needed a scalable RFID system that could support warehouse operations, store inventory visibility, item search, replenishment, checkout automation, returns tracking and e-commerce fulfilment. Before RFID implementation, the customer was using barcode-based stock counting and manual global count processes. These methods created stock variance, consumed significant manpower and limited the frequency of inventory audits.
In a large fashion retail network, even small stock visibility gaps can affect replenishment, customer service, e-commerce fulfilment and store sales.
The main objective was to optimise cost, time and accuracy across warehouse and retail store operations while improving ease of use for employees and customer experience inside stores.

At the mega distribution centre, Technowave implemented RFID workflows to improve goods receiving, stock validation, outbound dispatch accuracy, returns tracking and e-commerce order movement. RFID tunnel readers helped validate bulk shipments faster and reduced dependency on manual checking.

Across 94 retail stores, RFID helped the store team receive stock faster, locate items easily, count inventory more frequently, improve replenishment from back store to shop floor and reduce checkout time through RFID checkout counters.

One of the most technically challenging parts of the project was RFID tagging for beauty products. More than 600 beauty SKUs were physically tested to identify suitable RFID labels and reliable read performance.
Beauty items containing viscous liquids created additional RFID readability challenges. These products required careful testing because product material and packaging can affect RFID performance.
Technowave handled the challenge through physical SKU testing, tag selection and label standardisation, helping enable RFID source tagging for the beauty category.
