The Zebra DS9900 Series (DS9908) combines the speed of a presentation scanner with the flexibility of a handheld in one corded device. Cashiers swipe everyday items past it hands-free, then simply pick it up to scan heavy or awkward products in the trolley, with no trigger to press and no mode to switch.
A megapixel sensor and Zebra’s PRZM Intelligent Imaging capture damaged, poorly printed and high-density codes, mobile coupons and loyalty QR codes, and Digimarc barcodes, so queues keep moving at busy tills.
Hands-free and handheld in one scanner
In hands-free mode the DS9908 reaches swipe speeds of up to 240 in. (610 cm) per second for a 13 mil UPC, and in handheld mode it reads a UPC up to 62.7 cm away. A Direct Decode Indicator and adjustable speaker confirm every scan, even in a noisy store.
Optional built-in RFID
The DS9908R adds a UHF RFID reader (EPC Gen2 V2) with a read range of about 45 cm, so the same device can scan barcodes and read RFID tags at the point of sale for returns, item verification and RFID-tagged fashion.
Built for the busiest checkouts
The DS9908 withstands repeated 1.5 m drops and 2,000 tumbles and is IP52 sealed. It works with Checkpoint EAS deactivation, supports over 90 keyboard languages and is managed remotely with Zebra 123Scan and Scanner Management Service.
