Description
The Newland FM60 Cubera AI is a fixed-mount scanner designed to be built into other equipment: self-checkout and ordering kiosks, ticket validators, parcel lockers, vending machines and counter-top POS systems. Its compact 114 × 46 × 94 mm housing and 145 g weight make it easy for system integrators to fit, and its medium-sized scan window reads codes held close to the device or presented at an angle.
Inside, a multi-core processing platform runs Newland’s UIMG decoding together with AI-powered barcode detection, which uses computer vision to locate and read codes quickly, even when the customer is not holding them perfectly.
AI decoding for real-world codes
The FM60 reads damaged, distorted and low-contrast 1D and 2D barcodes, codes printed on curved or reflective packaging, and QR codes on phone screens for tickets, coupons and payments. A 1280 × 800 CMOS sensor with a wide 65.6° × 44.6° field of view and motion tolerance above 2 m/s keeps queues moving at unattended kiosks.
OCR for ID and document capture
Built-in OCR extracts text from IDs and official documents, useful for hotel and airport self check-in, age verification and visitor registration without adding a separate document reader.
Clear status and easy integration
Six status indicators show decoding, configuration, communication and fault states at a glance, so staff can quickly see whether a scan succeeded. The scanner accepts 5–12 VDC, connects over USB or RS-232, supports Advanced Scripting for data formatting and is configured with Newland EasySet. It is GS1 ready and covered by a 5-year standard warranty.
