Description
The Newland HR15 Wahoo Corded is a practical 1D handheld scanner for businesses that mainly scan linear barcodes such as EAN, UPC, Code 128 and GS1 DataBar, but still want a device that can take knocks. It is the corded member of the HR15 Wahoo series and ships with a coiled cable that keeps the counter tidy and gives the operator room to reach items in a trolley or on a pallet.
Unlike many entry-level linear scanners, the HR15 can also decode PDF417 and MicroPDF417 stacked codes, which often appear on shipping labels, IDs and some healthcare packaging.
Fast CCD scanning with a generous reading range
A 2500-pixel CCD image sensor with red LED illumination scans at 300 times per second across a 42° field of view, reading codes from about 3 cm to more than 46 cm away. Wide skew and pitch tolerance mean staff do not need to line the scanner up perfectly, and seven scan modes, from trigger to continuous and sense mode, let you adapt it to handheld or hands-free use.
Built for busy shop floors and stock rooms
The HR15 is sealed to IP54 against dust and splashing water and survives repeated 1.5 m drops, so it copes with the warehouse, the delivery bay and the checkout alike. At 152 g with an ergonomic grip, it stays comfortable through scan-intensive shifts.
Simple connection to POS and PC systems
Choose the USB kit for plug-and-play keyboard input or the RS-232 kit for older POS terminals and scales. Optional accessories include a foldable smart stand for presentation scanning and a wall-mount clip, and the scanner is covered by a 5-year standard warranty.
