Description
The Zebra HC20 and HC50 are purpose-built Android mobile computers for hospitals, clinics and care homes. They look and feel like a modern smartphone, but add what clinical teams need: enterprise barcode scanning for positive patient ID and medication administration, push-to-talk and voice calling, a dedicated duress button and housings that tolerate more than 30 hospital wipes and disinfectants.
The HC20 is the value model with 6 GB RAM, while the HC50 adds 8 GB RAM, 128 GB storage, a front camera, true hot-swap batteries and pre-licensed Zebra DNA Enterprise tools. HC25 and HC55 versions add 5G with nano SIM and eSIM.
Scan wristbands, medication and specimens
Outside North America every model ships with the SE4720 1D/2D scan engine with white illumination and a green aimer, so staff can read patient wristbands, unit-dose medication and specimen labels quickly at the bedside. Dual scan buttons suit left- and right-handed users.
Communication and staff safety
Workcloud Communication options turn the device into a PTT radio or a full PBX handset, with AI noise suppression on the built-in microphones and dual speakers for busy wards. A red duress button with an emergency dialler lets staff call for help instantly.
Ready for infection control
Healthcare-grade plastics, IP65/IP68 sealing and Corning Gorilla Glass on the display and imager window let the device be wiped down between patients without damage. Multiple 1.25 m drops to tile over concrete are covered per MIL-STD-810H.
