Description
The Brady FR22 Lite is the cost-effective entry model in the FR22 family of fixed RFID readers. It keeps the same high-performance UHF RFID engine and quad-core processing platform as the full FR22, and drops the wireless connectivity, video output and Brady expansion modules that many installations don’t need.
The result is a slim, PoE-powered reader with four antenna ports that suits fixed read points where Ethernet is already in place. Regional versions are available for ETSI (865.6–867.6 MHz) and FCC (902–928 MHz) bands; Technowave supplies the version that matches your country.
Same RFID performance as the FR22
With +32 dBm RF output (ETSI), receive sensitivity of -87 dBm and up to 1,000 tags per second, the FR22 Lite handles dock doors, conveyor points and stockroom portals with the same accuracy as its bigger sibling. It is also compatible with the Impinj Gen2X RAIN toolbox.
Edge computing without a PC
A quad-core A7 1.1 GHz processor with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB flash runs Linux, so you can host embedded web apps with their own user interface directly on the reader. Full APIs, including the Nordic ID NUR API and a RESTful service, give developers complete control, and existing Nordic ID fixed-reader applications remain compatible.
Easy to deploy and manage
A single PoE 802.3at cable powers the reader and carries data. Configuration and firmware updates run through a web management interface, TLS 1.3 secures connections, and the OPC UA Auto-ID server option links tag data into industrial systems. I/O lets you add triggers, lights and buzzers.
